All About Me

Silky Black & White Tuxedo with striking white whiskers

You will absolutely fall in love the moment you meet Sugar Plum and his little brother Gum Drop. They are two of the sweetest, cuddliest, happiest kittens. Sugar Plum and Gum Drop both have a congenital leg deformity. Sugar Plum's disability is more severe. Due to the missing bones in his front legs, he walks on his front 'knees'. Sugar Plum moves around quite well on carpeting though and can jump up on furniture and run up and down carpeted steps. With the addition of soft dog beds, he is able to jump down from beds, couches and cat towers. Sugar Plum and Gum Drop are both very affectionate and love to get and give kisses and nuzzles. They are lap kitties who also enjoy a good game of chase or wrestling. They also think they’re part dog because they trot behind you like little puppies.
Sugar Plum is very bonded with his brother Gum Drop and they want to be adopted together.

Best Friends

Sugar Plum would be especially happy to find a home with another cat from his foster home:

History

Strays living in a drainage ditch who would not have survived if not for the kindness of an IAR volunteer

Health

Sugar Plum and Gum Drop both have a congenital leg deformity. Sugar Plum is missing several bones in his front legs and feet. He has been thoroughly examined by vet specialists who do not recommend any intervention at this time since he gets around so well. Sugar Plum may be prone to arthritis and blisters on his knees due to his bent legs. There is a possibility that after Sugar Plum has grown he could benefit from orthodontics or surgical intervention. Sugar Plum and his brother Gum Drop will need carpeted floors or floors with large rugs. Pet steps and other minor adaptations may be necessary to make your home a little more accessible for them. Both have both been neutered, micro-chipped, and given all their shots.
