8 year old • Female • 15 lbs
Haven's coat is dark brown with black and tan accents, and splashes of white on her face and toes. Her big ears stick straight up.
Haven is very shy. Although Haven is wary of most people at first, she does learn to trust. So she needs a very experienced adopter who has had very small dogs before, and who will be willing to work patiently with Haven until she knows she is safe and loved. Once Haven warms up, she loves to make a home in your lap for love.
Like her sister, Haven is very energetic and playful, so we are looking for an adopter with a fenced yard. Playing with her sister is her favorite thing to do. She is a bit fearful of other dogs but is OK if they leave her alone. Haven is crate-trained and we are working on house-training.
Haven is in perfect health. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative.
Haven's owner is ill and could no longer care for them anymore.
IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
