All About Me

FranFran Frankie is a sweet, gentle girl who loves everyone! She is looking for a home where she can simply be herself. She is getting along nicely with other dogs and the cats in her foster home.

Since entering her IAR foster home, Frankie has been making a wonderful recovery from living outside and being neglected. Reveling in the delights of indoor life, she loves her cushy bed, the air conditioning, two meals a day, regular exercise, plus someone to love her throughout the day.

Her veterinary care has included dental work, which has made a huge difference, and now she can really enjoy her food.

Frankie is house-trained and sleeps through the night without accidents. She spends her days lounging on her bed and taking frequent naps.

While walking is strongly encouraged for her joint health, stairs are a no go. Although Frankie is not used to walking on a leash, she does not pull and is happy to follow closely, albeit slowly. Walks (or strolls through the backyard) need to be short and on level ground, so no all-terrain hikes.

She is getting accustomed to the everyday sounds, although loud noises startle her still.

Frankie can't wait to find a loving home where she can live out her days in comfort and joy!

HISTORY
FranFran Frankie had a rough life for 14 years, chained up and neglected by her owner. But she had a guardian angel who loved her, and once a day brought food and clean water for both Frankie and her puppy (also chained), never missing a single day. That puppy, now 12, also was taken into IAR in April, and was just adopted!

HEALTH
FranFran Frankie is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. She is heartworm positive and is being treated with the slow-kill method. She is taking fish oil along with MYOS for her muscles and joints. In addition, she is getting an Adequan injection and a Librela injection monthly.

PHYSICAL
FranFran Frankie has a beautiful short red coat with a tail that she uses for balance rather than for wagging. She has a mostly white face with a black muzzle and white on some toes.
