PERSONALITY & BEHAVIORS
Poppy V. is the ultimate snuggle buddy and is looking for a home where she will get lots of attention and love! In fact, when learning new tricks, like Sit and Come, she prefers getting praise over treats!
This gal wants to be in a home where people are around most of the time. She enjoys the company of kids, but will need more training so that she doesn't jump around little ones. Poppy also would like living with another dog, as long as that four-legged sibling understands that she is the princess.
An exuberant gal, Poppy is always up for anything and easily matches her humans' energy level--ready to play whenever invited (some favorites are ball, fetch, and tug), but just as content to cuddle. When left to her own devices, she can be found exhibiting one of her specialities: desqueakifying toys.
As you might imagine, she is great on a leash because she likes to stick right beside her people. On her walks Poppy politely meets every person and dog she sees. For now, she is going on two 20-minute walks a day. But as she is just recovering from being spayed, she likely will soon be up for more exercise. She needs a potty break every 3-to-4 hours.
Poppy does not like to be crated, but can be trusted to not to bother any belongings inside . . . well, ok, that's as long as there is no food left out for her to discover!
She sleeps well through the night and strongly prefers to sleep in our bed. She likes to tuck herself under the covers--and, hey, since she sleeps curled in a ball, she doesn't take up much space!
Oh, when you meet her and see those crooked ears and the way she tilts her head when you talk to her, Poppy will instantly charm her way into your heart!
PHYSICAL
Poppy V. has an incredibly soft white coat with a light brown spot around one eye and on her back. Her ears are adorably asymmetrical, with one pointing up and one to the side.
HEALTH
Poppy V. is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed.
HISTORY
Poppy V. and her five puppies were found as strays in a rural community.
