PERSONALITY & BEHAVIORS
Mandy Lee is cute as a button! This perky gal loves to be close to you, and she adores being petted. So we are looking for a home where she would have a person home a lot during the day.
The best movie-watching buddy, she'll wiggle up right by you on the couch for cuddles!
She gets along fine with the elderly Cocker Spaniel in her foster home, but is wary of and selectively friendly toward unfamiliar dogs she sees outside. So, she would need a slow introduction to potential canine siblings. Her ideal home would be with another small dog to play with of a similar energy level, around her age or a bit younger or a bit older. Mandy is used to living with older adults and needs a home with no young children.
Mandy likes taking walks down the street, and she'll happily chase a ball if you throw it. She's a spunky gal with some pep in her step! In the fenced yard, Mandy enjoys rolling around in the grass. Check out the videos to see her kick up her feet! So we are also hoping for someone who has a fenced yard. As she is very little, the yard doesn't need to be big!
At night Mandy sleeps on her bed behind a gate in the kitchen. During the day, she needs regular potty breaks every four hours.
Oh, and did we mention she's a total foodie? Mandy's favorite activity is eating! And if you give her treats she'll love you forever!
PHYSICAL
Mandy has big, sweet eyes and a tan and black coat. While most Chihuahua ears stand straight up, hers flop over when she trots around! So cute!
HEALTH
Mandy is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative. She has a history of bladder stones, and she has recovered nicely from surgery to remove a chicken-egg-sized stone. She is eating a prescription urinary food, which her vet has said will be necessary for her to stay on throughout her life. Currently, it costs $38 for 6 lbs or $78 for 16.5 lbs.
HISTORY
Mandy's owner moved into an assisted living facility and could no longer care for her.
