All About Me

Hi, I'm Myrtle! I'm a sassy muted-tortie with a whole lot of love to give right alongside my classic tortie-tude personality!! I have overcome the adversities of being a lonely kitten on the streets, then losing my first real family, and finally finding my way back to IAR for a second chance at a for real forever home this time. I've been through the ringer, but I'm a resilient and hopeful little girl. Those experiences have shaped who I am and how I'll adapt to my new home, but with time, I learn to trust new people and open up my big heart and hilarious personality in big ways. I'm looking for a kind and understanding human/family who can patiently help me learn to trust again.

So a little about me...

First of all, I absolutely love to snuggle once I know and trust a person. I want to be your little spoon, lap cat, love muffin. That doesn't mean I'm a softie, though! I'm a tortie who will always bring the sass and the class to any room! My mesmerizing ambery green eyes seem to be pretty irresistible to the humans.

I am also super playful and active! I enjoy string toys if you're willing to pull them and make them dance, and kicky toys are super fun when I'm feeling feisty! I'm a big fan of catnip, too! At least once a day I get the zoomies and zip around the house, up and down the cat tree, from window to window, getting all my ya-yas out. Then, a long nap!

Another cool thing about me: I'm an EXCELLENT co-worker. I adore laying on a neatly folded blanket beside my foster mom's computer on her desk. I enjoy that she's nearby and I can hear the tippy-tapping of her keyboard while I take my mid-morning and all-afternoon naps. I think I'm very motivational to her, because she can see how pretty I am at anytime -- that's always inspiring! Plus, the humans on the other side of her computer screen seem very excited every time I stretch my legs and walk in front of them - so many oohs and aahs from my adoring fans! They request my appearance and I happily oblige.

One last important thing to know: I don't care for the company of other four-legged friends or small children. I'm pretty much just an adult-people kind of cat and it's my biggest wish to be someone's (or some couple's) one-and-only baby. Because of my harried past, I approach new situations with fear until I get comfortable. I startle easily and feel best in predictable environments - and other animals and children just make that hard.

If you've made it this far and think we might be a good match, let's talk! Have your people call my people (just fill out the application on my page!) and my foster mom will set up a time for us to meet!

All IAR cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption.
