Mini Pearl is clever, curious, cuddly, and very devoted to her people. She is full of energy and loves to play, go on walks and race around the yard. When she's tired out, she likes nothing more than curling up on your lap, on the couch, or in bed. She is extremely intelligent and has already learned Sit, Wait, Twirl, Shake, and Down. Very observant, she watches everything and quickly picks up on routines and patterns.
As she needs plenty of exercise and stimulation, Mini Pearl is looking for a home with a very secure fenced yard, and an active person who will enjoy walking her and taking her to training classes and activities. She wants someone who is home at least some during the day. Mini Pearl loves people, but is sometimes frightened upon first encounters.
Mini Pearl is still working on her leash manners and socialization. She needs exposure to all types of people and places in order to grow in her confidence and ability to be less reactive. She is working on not barking at other dogs and people she passes on walks, and needs someone very experienced with dogs and willing to seek out training to help her learn to be a calm companion in public. As Mini Pearl has a strong prey drive, she needs to be in a home without cats or other small pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, or hamsters.
She is doing well with house-training and promptly potties outside when she's taken out on a leash after meals, before bed, and first thing in the morning. With this structured schedule, she does not have accidents in the house. Although she will sleep in her crate overnight without waking, Mini Pearl prefers sleeping in bed with her humans. Because she's a small dog, she needs a way to safely get down from the bed with doggie steps.
This sweetie is a pearl of a girl, and will surely brighten her new family's world with her antics and fun-loving personality!
