All About Me

Meet Stabler, a charming young pup that is a joy to be around. A happy boy with a smile to match, he is comfortable with everyone he meets. He adores attention and loves to wiggle into your arms for hugs or lie in your lap while enjoying a bone!

Stabler also loves to play and can happily wear out another playful dog. He will do well with a playful dog and/or a dog that sets clear boundaries verbally, which he respects. He is still learning to read passive dog body language and can be too persistent for some dogs. Similarly, while Stabler does not hurt cats, he gets very excited around them. We will arrange meet-and-greets with any pets in the home to ensure a good fit.

Stabler already knows commands including Sit, Down (with duration), Leave it, and Touch, all of which he picked up within 30 minutes! He loves to learn new commands and views learning opportunities as fun games. He is currently in a training class which he enjoys. Because he is still a puppy, he has a lot of energy and does best with 15-30 minutes of higher-intensity exercise at least 2 times a day. Higher-intensity exercise can be fetch, chasing water from hose (his favorite game!), playing with another dog, or anything else that involves him running and burning his energy.

Stabler is crate-trained and house-trained. He is very smart and has picked up on house-rules quickly, but it is still recommended that he be crated or kept in a small area when unsupervised. He is still learning to walk on a leash without pulling, so a fenced yard is recommended but not required. With patient leash training, Stabler will be a great walking companion. The ideal home will provide him with plenty of attention, playtime, and continued training.
