PERSONALITY & BEHAVIORS
HI! My name is Jasper! My foster mom named me after the Tiger Eye Jasper gemstone (because she says my coat resembles it and I am a true GEM!) I am a one year old brindle Plott Hound Mix who is looking for my forever family. My mom says I am one of the sweetest and 'goodest' boys she has ever met!!! I had Iit a bit rough before my foster mom rescued me ..... I was tied up outside for a long time without much food or water or shelter) and then I was in a kennel for even longer ... so I never got to learn what a house was. Now that I am in one, I am investigating everything there is to know about this new, wonderful life. I even learned how to go up and down stairs and in and out of doors!
I love being snuggled and rubbed and kissed (and I like kissing back!). I love chasing balls (but am not quite sure how to return them yet). I love my doggy and kitty and human foster siblings and have lots of fun with them. I am a bit scared of my reflection still but am getting over that. I love these toys called bones and when my foster mom gives me bully sticks and those Kong things with peanut butter, I am in HEAVEN!
My foster mom talks to me a lot and keeps asking me what my perfect family would be. I think my family would include someone who can spend a lot of time with me, playing and snuggling. Someone who can go on walks or runs with me so I can get my exercise and mental stimulation, and who has a fenced yard that I can run around in. I would also really like a doggy brother or sister who I can play with - I love playing. If there was someone in the family that was my age in people years who could give me love and who might share their bed with me, that would be awesome .... I would really like a human best friend I could grow up with.
I am so very proud to say that I am house and crate trained and know how to sit. I am working really hard on stay .... but I get just a bit too excited .... especially when nummy treats are involved. Do you think you are the family I am looking for? I would love to meet you and find out!
HEALTH
Jasper is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and heartworm negative.
