All About Me

Meet Papa, a lovable fellow who thrives on affection and playtime with his people! His ecstasy is being petted...he will lean into them so hard that he drops on the floor belly-up! Because Papa is a big boy and can be bouncy when excited, he needs a home without small children.

Papa loves playing with other dogs. Due to his size and excitement level, the initial meeting can be overwhelming for the other dog, but after a few minutes of processing he calms down and is very well mannered. He takes firm/clear correction from other dogs well, and he is living with new dogs every week as his foster pet sits. Papa would be great in a home with other dogs or as the only dog in the house... once his initial excitement of wears off he's very adaptable!

Papa is eager to please and receive some precious, precious petting from any person he meets. He knows Sit, Down, Wait, and Shake. Relatively good on walks with a front-clip harness - he likes to stop for long sniffs - his leash manners are improving every day. He loves playing fetch, and even brings the ball back!

Papa is fully house-trained and crate-trained. His preference is to not be in a crate, and he does fine when left unsupervised in his foster's living room. He will occasionally steal clothing items (shoes, socks) left on the floor as he loves that they smell like a familiar person. He does not destroy these items, he lays down snuggling them.

Once Papa is with his new family, due to his excitable nature, he will need a decompression period to give him the necessary time to adjust to his new surroundings.

A playful and intuitive pup, Papa is a sweet gentleman, who will make an excellent playmate and a loving, loyal companion!
