PHYSICAL
Samira has a gorgeous golden coat with white patches on her neck and chest. She has a tall, lean, athletic build and gentle brown eyes that will quickly melt your heart.
PROFILE
Samira is a young, affectionate dog with playful puppy energy who is eager to become part of a devoted, loving, very active family. She needs to live in a detached home with a securely fenced-in backyard so she can explore, fetch, and be able to freely stretch her legs. She likes other dogs and interacts well with her foster brothers, but will do best as the only resident dog so she can be the center of her family's attention. She will need someone who is comfortable handling larger dogs, and any kids in the home need to be 10+ years old. Samira loves the outdoors, so count this girl in on any hiking and long walks or runs!
A cuddly sweety, Samira loves to climb up and give you a hug or lie in your lap. She needs some confidence-boosting, a regular routine, and a patient adopter who will give her positive reinforcement.
She is very smart and eager to please, and easily redirected with toys (she loves balls and playing fetch!) or treats (she is very food-motivated and takes treats nicely). House-trained and crate-trained, Samira is quickly learning basic obedience commands (including Sit, Stay, and Down) and leash manners. Her new family must be committed to continuing her training and providing exercise.
HEALTH
Samira is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is currently on antianxiety medication.
HISTORY
Samira came into the IAR program from a local shelter.
