Journal 3/24/2026
Real talk? People are SCARY! And when you’ve never lived in a house before, moving into one means a lot of changes and that’s also SCARY. But people are the source of really nice pets and super yummy treats and it’s warm (or cool!) in houses with plenty of food and soft places to sleep. So, I’m trying really hard to be brave and “do it scared.” My foster mom says I’m doing a super good job, even though I sometimes still hiss at her when I’m startled (I always accept pets right afterwards, though, as soon as I recognize her). That’s why she says I shouldn’t have a delicate name, but something strong while still pretty, like the metal palladium (even though she’s lazy and shortens it to Palla). My social battery does tend to run out pretty quickly right now, because it’s hard work being brave, so I need time to myself after I get pets or play with people (still trying to wrap my head around this one, tbh). If you can be patient with me while I figure out this whole peopling thing, I’d love a forever home where I can continue to stretch my wings.

Journal 4/8/2026
My comfort zone is expanding exponentially! I now come out and twine around my foster mom’s ankles while she’s fixing food and don’t hide when she enters the room. I’ll also push my sister out of the way so I can get more pets. Because PETS! I still haven’t wrapped my head around playing with people, but I’m working on it. I may always be shy, but maybe not, because look how far I’ve come in just two weeks!

Journal 5/15/2026
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been over a month – my foster mom is slacking in posting these! I made friends with the other foster cats – to be clear, I always wanted to be friends but they kept saying I was sus – and now I have a blast playing with them. That means I’m free to explore the whole house, which was definitely another big adjustment, but I’m mostly comfortable now. I was even sometimes letting my foster mom pick me up, but then she crossed ALL my boundaries by trimming my nails, and giving me flea meds, AND LETTING STRANGE PEOPLE STAY IN THE HOUSE, and she needs to do more groveling than she has if I’m going to trust her again. She should feel lucky I’ll still sniff her fingers, honestly. As for playing with people, wand toys look fun but I keep thinking they’re a trap and kinda sus, but LASER POINTERS! Now those are the MOST FUN EVER! I wish someone would take me to my forever home to play with me and make me feel safe and secure always…
