You know how big changes are overwhelming, even when they’re good? That’s been my life lately! I was living outside until recently, but I kept tentatively trying to make friends with people, so I was brought into a foster home as the first step on the path to finding a forever home. This has been a lot and I’ve been a little scared, but since these are good changes, I’m quickly relaxing and coming out of my shell. Because do you KNOW how good it feels to get pets?? Playing with people still breaks my brain, but I’ll get there. I’m not sure if I’ll ever like sitting in someone’s lap, but I’ve come so far, so fast, that who knows? Afterall, I’m strong AND pretty, that’s why I’m named after a precious metal – Iridium or Iri, for short.

Living in a house is GREAT! Pets are so amazing that I now meet my foster mom at the door and “help” her scoop the litterbox (I don’t know why she put it in quotes like that, I am, too, helping!) to be sure to get all the pets. I’ve even decided I like being held and snuggled, at least for a little bit. I might just be a lap cat if given more opportunity. And I’ve figured out the playing with people thing – turns out that is FUN!

Wow, it’s been over a month! I made friends with the other foster cats – just for the record, I was all for being friends, but they weren’t so sure – and started exploring the rest of the house. The house is BIG, so that was scary at first, but I’m comfortable now. I love chasing the other cats all over the place! Pets and snuggles are still great, as is playing with people. I still don’t know if I’m a lap cat – I’m not sure I know what a lap is! – but I like hanging out in the same room as my foster mom.
All IAR cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption.
