Personality Description: Juniper (Juni) is a very affectionate cat who loves people and loves to play. She is about 4 years old. She doesn't seem to understand social cues from other cats and as such other cats tend to hate her (which is why we are rehoming her). She is very sweet and social with people. She will greet you every day when you come home. She is a good cuddler and very emotionally supportive. She loves to play and will run and jump all over to get a toy. Her other main interest is cat food. She only eats kibble and doesn't tend to like wet cat food. Her only behavioral issue is she tries to eat plastic and any human food she can get to. She also gets the occasional late-night zoomies and is very vocal if she isn't able to cuddle with anyone at night. You are also welcome to all of her cat accessories. She loves to nap in her pictured plush whale and has a favorite bird toy.

History: Juni was found as a stray and taken to the pound in Hazard Kentucky. I then adopted her from the Kentucky Humane Society and brought her to North Carolina. I have had her since around 2021. She doesn't get along with significant other's cat though.

Personality Description: Kratos is a very, very sweet boy. We are working through some anxiety, and some training. He sees the trainer weekly for lessons, and is making great strikes! He's very food motivated so makes training easy. He loves giving kisses and, typical of his age, has a lot of energy. He has leash reactivity we're working on towards dogs and some strangers. He'd do best in a home we believe that has a yard with a small family with no other pets.

History: He was adopted from a kill shelter on the day he was not supposed to be with us (Franklin County Animal shelter).

Personality Description: Omi (short for Maromi) is a loving, cuddly, and super intelligent girl. She is 4 years old and completely potty trained, knows sit, down, stay, place, drop it, find it, get a toy, and so much more. Omi adores cheek kisses and is totally obsessed with her owner and anyone new that comes in the door. She is vocal when hearing sounds at the front door, but otherwise quiet. Needs a lot of exercise as she’s a heeler (work dog). We have experienced recently some aggression from her, when touched unexpectedly or instances related to resource guarding. Typical of a healer, she snaps at hands if triggered- but her triggers can very well be avoided or trained to give her more confidence. She loves cuddling in bed, chasing tennis balls, and playing games that challenge her mentally. Unfortunately my father isn’t willing to spend time training her out of these behaviors but it seems very possible as she’s so smart & I am desperate to find an adoptee to show her some love instead of putting her down.

History: She was abused as a newborn (someone cut her tail with scissors) and attacked by a dog while on a leash and had to go to the hospital. After this she started having leash aggression towards other dogs and stopped enjoying the dog park, so she doesn’t have as much socialization with other dogs as she should have. Would be so grateful to see her rehomed and trained so she can live a full, happy life. I love Omi so much

Personality Description: Super happy and playful. Eager to please. Loves giving kisses and snuggles. He always greets me with big tail wags that gets his whole body wiggling and with a toy in his mouth. He just wants to be everyone's friend. No aggression or resource guarding. Can be a little reactive on leash, but it's easy to break his concentration, and good off leash (at say a dog park).

History: This handsome ~1yo boy was abandoned in Spring Valley NV. I believe I found him the same day, as he was clean, but its become clear no one is looking for this sweet boy. He is potty trained, good on leash and loves walks, great in the car, and loves to play. He knows a few tricks and is very quick to catch on to new commands - very smart. Because of his puppy energy and the fact that he loves to chase, I think he would be best in a cat, small dog, small child free home. He would likely be ok with larger dogs if introductions are done properly, but would be happy being your only baby!

Personality Description: Rowan is a 1yo red heeler mix. He is FULL of puppy energy and never seems to get tired. The only thing he loves more than his ball, is his person and he wants is to be right by your side all the time. Rowan is the definition of a velcro pup. That being said, he also does well by himself for long periods of time as long as he has a chew toy or a puzzle. Rowan is an amateur hiker, camper, and beginner kayaker. He has his obedience training down, is learning basic agility, and has started scent training. He is extremely intelligent and eager to please. Rowan does great in the car and loves UTV rides. This pup is an absolute cuddle-bug and very gentle with his person. But Rowan got all the heeler genes and has a very strong protective streak. He will growl, bark, and snap at the heels and hands of any person, dog, or cat that comes near his person or his place. We are working on training and believe that he can overcome these challenges. Rowan did not receive the socialization or training heeler puppies need. He needs a patient person who can be consistent with his training and preferably has herding dog experience. His prey-drive and herding instincts are strong. Rowan would make an excellent farm or bird dog. Any potential home must have access to a space where he can run off leash. Rowan is the most loyal, intelligent, and loving dog I have ever known. He will make an excellent adventure buddy and companion for the person willing to give him a chance at a better life.

History: Adopted him from a high kill rate shelter in Rupert, Idaho. Wasn't socialized or trained well with other dogs when he was young.

History: Poe has been my best friend for years and such an amazing cat, however due to serious complications with my pregnancy and health issues after, I am unable to give him the care and love he deserves. It is really important to me that Poe does not go to a kill shelter, due to his age I could not bear it. He is in great health and got his yearly check up just 2 months ago and is doing great. Personality Description: Olivia is submissive with humans and demonstrates appropriate behavior with other dogs when she greets. She has some separation anxiety and would do well in a home with another dog. Probably not good with cats - but still an unknown. She has a moderate prey drive true to her breed. She LOVES long walks and will stop and smell along the way, but is happy to go at your pace. She has amazing agility and would shine as an agility competition canine. She is also housetrained and crate trained, and rides well in the car.

History: Olivia was pulled from the e-list at the Santa Cruz Shelter in Nogales, AZ. She was picked up as a stray. In a very short time (1 week) she learned not to fear the leash, use the dog door and began car rides. She does suffer from separation anxiety and would do well in a home with another dog. Personality Description: Monkey - Clever, curious, and stylish! He likes looking out the window and perching on furniture in the most elegant ways possible. Meatball - Super duper sweet, but a little shy at first. He is all about the cheek scritches and will immediately come sit on your lap once he warms up to you! Both are very chatty and will "talk" with each other throughout the day. These beautiful boys are big (12lbs each) but respectful of furniture and fully litter trained. They will make an adorable and loving addition to someone's home!

History: Monkey and Meatball were feral kittens that I first encountered and started feeding when they were 6 weeks old in summer of 2023. When they were old enough, I utilized SafeCare's TNVR program to neuter and vaccinated them and then returned them to the colony that I feed in my area. This past spring Monkey was bit by a copperhead so I scooped him up and took him to the vet for treatment. During his time recovering indoors it became clear that he enjoyed being an inside cat. Unfortunately, his bonded brother Meatball outside was missing him terribly and had stopped eating and roaming with the colony. I brought Meatball in and the two brothers were so happy to be reunited! These sweet boys must be adopted together because they are a bonded pair.

History: He was found in Durham county as a stray. I have had him for a few weeks now and he is such a good boy, but we have two dogs of our own with separate issues and feel would be great in a home that can give him the love and attention that he needs. History: We found Charlie as a stray in 2021 (he was estimated to be about a year old at this time). He was found eating out of the trash at a kitchen commissary we were using at the time. Since we were unable to locate his original owners we took him in. We do not think we are the best care for Charlie as we are not home for more than 12 hours every day.

While Pinky grew up with a dog and a cat, she was not socialized with other dogs when young, so she doesn't have the best manners! She can happily go for walks but is not ready for dog parks.

History: Heathrow came from the orange county animal shelter as a puppy. Personality Description: Paddy is sweet and playful. A little shy to warm up, but once she does - quickly - she will want to be your shadow.

History: We found this sweet girl on Sunday, September 8th with a 30' heavy chain padlocked tightly around her neck (it has caused some scabbing and raw spots around her neck - none oozing or open though) and as she ran she got the chain wrapped around a power pole near the road in Belen, NM. and was stuck when we found her. We took her to Ace Hardware to use their bolt cutters to cut the lock so the chain could be removed. By the way she initially behaved, she has not been treated kindly, unfortunately. However, she has not shown any aggression towards humans (adults) or our 4 dogs (small to big) and seems subservient. She does seem fairly young, seems to be intact and playful and is quickly learning how to act like a dog, in a very short time! Her tail went from tucked in to up and proud. She has just discovered the couch as I write this. We took her back home to our home in Gallup, NM., she is wanting to play so badly with our large pet pig (although the pig is not too keen on it) and in true husky fashion, has learned that our section of 3' fence is no challenge for her. So, unfortunately, in the meantime, for her safety, she is only allowed out on a leash or she is allocated to our enclosed porch or home. None of this is fair for long to a pup that has only just found her freedom from a chain and padlock. I fear, even taking her to the Humane's Society, she will not be given a fair chance. However, I will not be able to provide a foster for too long due to the busy highway and rural area I live in and the chances she may escape and get hurt. She is beautiful, the pics do not do her justice. I have tried to reach out to the local Husky rescue here, and many others, but have sadly had little success with any responses. A great home with a TALL and secure fence is needed! Paddy also requests a playmate who likes to play.

Personality Description: Appa is an affectionate and loving dog 99% of the time. He is somewhat anxious and quirky, but in an endearing way. He loves to bring you pillows and slippers when you come home and tries to imitate ambulance sirens! He loves to go on walks and to be outside, but less so in the Florida weather. Unlike many Goldens, he is also a good guard dog. He is wary of strangers but can be fairly easily won over with treats. He is very food motivated. He has resource guarding issues with other dogs. We have to feed him separately from our other senior dog. He has had no experience with cats.

History: Despite all of his endearing traits, Appa also has a bite history. While these incidents have been rare (a few times a year), we have not been able to eliminate them. He suffers from recurrent ear infections -- it is possible that these incidents are related to pain, but it remains a mystery to us. We have eliminated chicken from his diet (a suspected allergen) and more recently started him on daily benadryl (in case there are also environmental allergens). Although he loves our sons, he needs a home with no children, no other dogs, plenty of outside exercise, and someone who will impose a clear hierarchy in the home. He has been trained on the e-collar but we haven't used it consistently.

History: Yoshi was rescued from someone trying to throw him away at the city dump. Thankfully city workers heard him and saved his life - he is a lucky boy! Personality Description: He is very playful and enjoy walks and being outside. He has spouts of very high energy and enjoys playing fetch. He enjoys bird watching, or really any kind of window watching. He enjoys laying outside in the sun. He loves belly rubs and being brushed. His favorite places to be pet are his ears and his hind legs. He thrives the best in fenced in yards, so he can freely roam as he pleases. He has not been around cats since he was a puppy, so I am not sure how he would do if the household had cats. I would consider him dog selective. He takes time to get used to other dogs, but when he does, they get along great! We currently live with a German Shepherd in the house, and they are almost inseparable. He knows the basic commands (i.e. sit, stay, "paw", etc.)

History: He is 7 years old. He has been treated for demodectic mange and a slipped disc in his neck (he is a puller, so I switched back to a harness after this injury). He has seasonal allergies that flare up, but with good brushing and Cytopoint injections during the flare ups, it's easily maintained. I also have him on a salmon-based diet. I have seen the most progress in his allergies and skin since converting him to Taste of the Wild - Ancient Stream food. He has shown signs of resource guarding, which I have been unable to resolve through at home training. There has been an incident in which he was near his bag of food, and I was unaware of him guarding it and was bitten. I was under the impression I had resolved this issue, but it seems I have not.

Personality Description: Though skittish at any sudden movements, Sylvester warms up quickly to new people and becomes affectionate. He is more interested in attention and pets than food. He exhibits no fear of children, dogs, or other cats. He's incredibly gentle when playing. We've never seen him hunting animals outside, instead he sleeps all day in our lawn chairs.

History: Sylvester showed up in our backyard in mid-May. We believe he was abandoned by neighbors when they moved away. Though we have posted his information on social media and lost pet directories, no one has come forward to claim him. He has no microchip. As far as we can tell, Sylvester has only ever been an outdoor cat. It took a good bit of coaching to coax him onto our screened-in porch. We can't let him inside because our two cats are not as easy-going as him, but he very much wants to come indoors now. We think Sylvester would make a good indoor cat and graze on his food.

He ONLY chews his designated toys and in four weeks never went after shoes or furniture or anything else. He’s also surprisingly calm when in that mode and sleeps through the night, sometimes on the floor, sometimes in bed with one of us.

History: Simba grew up with another family who had to let him go for allergy reasons, spent a couple of weeks in the Orange County animal shelter, and has been with our family now for about four weeks. He’s smart and attentive and extremely lovable – except that he can’t get used to living with our cat. And she was here first.
