She loves soft blankets and looking out the window. I don't think she'd take to the unpredictability of a puppy, but an adult dog or another cat would be perfect as a buddy though. History: Rescued from Orange County Animal Services in late March 2025. She was found on the streets of Mebane. Owner is required to travel for work now and trying to find her a new furrever home.

We adopted her 2 months ago when we were looking for a 2nd dog. Unfortunately, our 6-yr old German Shepherd is not as pleased with a 2nd dog. Physical Description: Tyson is a brown and white English Bulldog mix with a lovable, smooshed face and a chunky little body. He's neutered and in good health, only requiring a daily allergy pill. He's up to date on vaccines and takes HeartGuard every month. He goes on several daily walks and plays with his brother a lot, but can get tired quickly. He spends a lot of the day sleeping, but is always excited to be part of the action when he hears things going on. His hygiene routine is pretty simple. His ears get cleaned twice per week, face folds cleaned every other day, and gets a bath about every 3-4 weeks.
Personality Description: Tyson is extremely loving, fun, and playful with people he knows. He likes to get belly rubs, learn new tricks, and is generally by your side as much as he can be. He is pretty laid back most of the time, but gets very excited for food. Tyson does not do well with strangers though. Due to his abusive past, he needs a slow introduction to anyone who he will be spending time with or in contact with. We use a trainer-provided introduction protocol to help him feel comfortable with walkers and sitters with very good success, but he will never be the dog that a stranger can try to engage with.
History: Tyson was rescued from an abusive situation in 2023 and was with a foster for ~2 months before I adopted him. While there he had a biting incident that was not disclosed to me until after adoption. During the first year that I had him, he had multiple biting incidents. Only one required medical attention and the majority were snaps that barely broke the skin or didn't break the skin at all. He has gone a while without an incident as we've improved his training and learned more about him.

Personality Description: Desi is a 6-year-old Indian Pariah dog, rescued at 2 weeks when his mom died in the streets. He has been in our family since he was 4 mths old. Desi is sweet, animated, intelligent and loving. He is very sensitive and loves to cuddle on the couch. Although he is fearful of new dogs and people, we have spent 6 years rehabilitating him to help him relax in scary situations. He is very food motivated and responsive and has improved significantly. Now, he can have dog friends if introduced slowly, and once he feels comfortable with a person, he will love them forever. Desi has nipped a person on the ankle and bitten one dog in our front yard, both while off leash; but has been trained to heel, and walk respectfully in public while on leash. He needs a sensitive, patient owner who understands his special emotional needs and will continue to encourage him to be calm and respectful in society. Desi has no separation anxiety, no destructive behavior in the house or yard. He is truly a gem.
History: Desi was born on the streets of New Delhi to a mom who ultimately died after two weeks. He was picked up by a rescue organization and brought to a shelter in India. At 4 months old he was brought to New Jersey by “Rescue Without Borders”. We adopted him at 4 months old. He has a sister who is 2 years older from the same adoption agency.

History: The neighbors always kept the cats outdoors and were fed mostly fast food scraps. Since this family left, about a week ago, I've been feeding them. History: This rescued, bonded cat family of 3 is in search of their fur-ever home. They were living outside for some time and we believe they were dumped by people moving out of an apartment - a cat mom, cat dad, and a 1 year old boy who we believe is their gorgeous offspring! They are now fixed and vaxxed and are really the most well-behaved, even-tempered, and sweetest cats I've known. They are so strongly bonded and relish in each others' company so we are hoping for a fur-ever home that will keep this family of three together! Honestly, these three cats are so easy that they feel like one. They are self-sufficient and look out for each other. They even sleep in one big cuddle puddle! A bit about each cat: BLOSSOM (female calico, age unknown but perhaps between 2-5 years old) - she is a QUEEN and the center of this family! She is a brave and adventurous gal who takes the lead and the boys are both very attached to her. She is so loyal and caring towards them both. When we found her she had a new litter of three kittens and was a terrific mom, staying by their side. All of those kittens have since been adopted! She'll definitely interact with you around food and handles some petting but saves most of her physical affection for her boys. GARFIELD (orange male, around 5-6 years old) - this guy is so chill he belongs on a lounge chair with sunglasses and a drink in his paw. He loves pets and cuddles and also a good back scratch session with a back scratcher. He's always content and just happy to eat and talk to you. He is Blossom's object of affection and they are definitely an inseparable couple in love. PRINCE (fluffy orange and white male, around 1 year old) - his name says it all! He has a graceful and regal demeanor and is oh so gentle! And yes, his fluff is just as soft as it looks. He is an absolute sweetheart and very, very affectionate! He pretty much copies Blossom's every move and looks to her for guidance and security, rarely leaving her side. But he craves human affection and love as well! He is a total cuddle bug, loves to play, and is such a good boy!

She is not the cuddle type - but more the chase, play, pounce type. You can get some good pets and grooming in when she is tired, napping and being lazy. She does have some play aggression when she gets wound up and has the kitty zoomies! She has a ton of energy. She will bite at you when you want to cuddle and she doesn't (as the vet said, just stating her boundaries, not trying to hurt you). She gets along is small dogs but does want to pounce and attack. I hope this phase wears off soon. She is great on roadtrips. I have a ton of pictures and videos so you can see her real personality .
History: I got her from the APC in NOV. They think she was around 5-6 weeks. She had been fixed the day I was there. That was part of the reason I took her home is she look so pitiful and tiny. I took her home, nursed her and got her healthy. APC said a sheriff found her in the woods and she was pretty frail. She had been away from her mom and siblings for a while. I have taken her to the vet a couple of times to talk through her "spiciness" as the vet calls it. He says that she was on her own for a while, no telling what she went through and she didn't learn how to be real social with her other kitty brothers and sisters and mom. Kind of breaks my heart. That said - she is well adjusted and happy. Lots of laying on her back and belly exposed. She adjust well to new environments.

Personality Description: Zeus is a very social and playful young dog. He is a big puppy, whose button eyes sparkle when he looks up at his people. He needs people who can take him on walks and challenge him with games. His stamina is not the greatest, and I don't believe he would do well with jogging, especially in summer. He's mouthy, and needs both hard and soft toys to mouth and chew. He loves hugs and kisses, and shared adventures. He can spend time relaxing inside, but has separation anxiety if left alone in a room. He will do best with a fenced yard, and has not been destructive when left outside for a couple hours. He's not crate trained, but has been in and out of his crate for treats. Zeus barks and growls at people who come into the house, but soon accepts them. So far we have held him on his leash initially when someone comes over.
History: We knew Zeus before he was surrendered to Animal Control, and he had gone from being and indoor/outdoor pup to being always outdoors, with very little interaction with anyone for two years. When he was surrendered we couldn't stand the thought that he would end his life at the shelter (he was terrified and wouldn't have come across well) so we agreed to adopt him, and took him home a week later. Unfortunately, our hopes exceeded our capabilities, especially since my husband is the one most with him, and has physical disabilities. Also, Zeus reacts to our cats, and since one is an older tripod she is often afraid and mostly hiding under the bed.

As far as getting along with kids, she probably would love the attention; it is unknown how she would act with dogs – probably ok as long as the dog was not overly aggressive/playful. I would introduce her to other cats with caution as she does appear to want to be the alpha kitty. Please open your heart and home to this sweet little cat and she will repay you with many cuddles.

Personality Description: Just call me chilly Gilly. I’m generally a laid-back dude. My priorities in order are sleep, food, a bit of play time, and the occasional pet. While I’m not an attention seeker, I usually don’t like being alone and will hang out in the same area as my peeps. I'm usually curious and will check out strangers and I’m happy for you to rub my cheek and forehead, but I won’t pester you to get on your lap or insist on getting attention. If you go outside, I’ll keep you company and monitor the work you’re doing in the yard. For now, my temporary caregivers are keeping me indoors. I seem to be OK with it, but I do have the ability to go out on the screened porch and get fresh air. While I’m chill with animals of the adult human kind, I’m not so sure about the young ‘uns. I prefer quiet and solitude. As for other cats, all I can say is I’m not happy (hiss) with the tuxedo stray that’s been hanging out on the front porch. Finally, I take an interest in dogs when they walk by but couldn’t tell you whether I get along with one. Sometimes my current caregivers say I’m an alien in a cat suit because I don’t do things that I’m “supposed” to do as a cat. For example, I’m not a heat seeking kitty. You won’t find me in a sunbeam or trying to get on your lap to get warm. Also, hanging out in boxes, hiding under covers, and knocking items off tables aren’t my thing. I insist that I’m a cat and can prove it. I don’t come when you call. I like to bat at tossed paper balls and chase my favorite fluffy wand toy. Most importantly, I go to the bathroom in that square plastic bin with the ucky grit!
History: My shelter paperwork says I was born in 2018 making me about five years old. Plenty of good years left in me. I don’t remember anything about my first owner. My second owner had me for a year and then decided they didn’t want me anymore and took me to a shelter in November 2022. I’m not sure what I did to deserve that. Life at the shelter was a bit lonely as I was in a cage most of the time. Then in April 2023 Helen came and gave me a loving home. Unfortunately, she became very ill and I’ve been staying with temporary caregivers. Although Helen’s better now, taking care of my litter and making sure I can get to the vet when needed is a bit too much for her. So my caretakers are trying to find me a forever home. Healthwise, I recently had updated vaccine shots and a check-up. Now that I’m five years old and no one took good care of my teeth, they could use a cleaning. At some point in my early years, my back leg was hurt so I don’t jump on counters or tables that are too high. I will jump on a couch or bed, but usually prefer to lie on the floor. Despite the leg issue, I still do great zoomies around the room.
