All About Me

Montana's rough and tumble appearance is belies his sweet personality. With a crooked tail and scarred ears, his look is as wild west as his namesake. However, this is softened by his big belly, short gray-white coat, light green eyes, and pink nose and toes.

Montana has a very relaxed personality. If you're looking for a low-maintenance kitty, Montana is it. He loves dark, cool spaces and spending time under beds or in the closet, and lounging on yoga mats. Montana's languid personality is best described by his signature moves which include: a belly flop (asking for belly rubs), rolling over, and responding to calls or tapping your fingers on the floor. See his moves for yourself in the videos beneath his pictures.

History

Montana appeared near an office complex in Chapel Hill five years ago and took up with a small colony of feral cats. When he appeared he was in rough shape and shy of people. Employees of some of the businesses in the complex would feed and spend time petting him, so he grew to love attention from humans. Previous caretakers said he liked being petted more than eating. He is a low maintenance little guy and will make someone a wonderful, loving pet.

Health

Montana loves his round belly scratched and rubbed. While not alarmingly large, I've had him on a loose diet to bring some of that weight down. Montana also had a mild case of conjunctivitis which I've been treating with eye drops. His eyes are clearing up and getting healthy.
