All About Me

Thunder is a very petite smoky /charcoal gray kitty. A unique color. She has clear green eyes and very soft fur.

Thunder is charming little cat. She happily made the transition from street cat to housecat, and she has nice indoor cat manners. Thunder enjoys being around people, but maybe from a little distance sometimes. She joins her foster Mom on the sofa for movies, and occasionally snuggles up for a while, or sometimes she just watches from the cat tree. She has come so far in her journey to be a pet, and will continue to blossom with patience and love. Thunder is unique and funny- she reclines in a very un-catlike position sometimes (see picture), and she has a funny way of communicating- she is pretty talkative, and walks about chortling frequently to her human and kitty companions. At first, she did not know what a toy was for, but now she loves to play either by herself or with a person, and really enjoys the laser pointer or chasing feather toys. She has been known to steal balls of yarn and wind them all around the furniture… She has learned to live with a sequence of foster siblings, and is willing to get along with other cats after a proper introduction period. Thunder may prefer having a companion cat if she is adopted by a family that does not spend a lot of time at home. If you are looking for a very decorative companion cat who is not terribly demanding, consider meeting Thunder.

History

Thunder was living at the Geer Street Garden Restaurant area for the first year or so of her life. Even though she was an untamed kitty, she befriended restaurant patrons and staff with her winsome ways. She was trapped and taken to the animal shelter, where IAR was able to rescue her. She was rescued from the animal shelter in fall of 2019 with the understanding that she would need time and attention to truly convert to domestic.

Health

Thunder appears very healthy to date. She is spayed and vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV.
