All About Me

Bergh is an adorable gray tabby with white markings and sweet grey-green eyes.

If you hate typing on your computer uninterrupted, if you like wearing kittens as necklaces, if your lap gets cold without the constant presence of a cat... Bergh is the cat for you! Bergh was trapped at a feral colony when he was about twelve weeks old. Feral, however, is one thing Bergh is not! We believe he was probably dumped (or, potentially, got lost) as a young kitten and took up with the colony. Since he had such a rough start in life, he is still a little wary of new people and places, and is not a cat who will ever relish being scooped up and carried around like a baby. He likes to come to you (often, and persistently!) on his own terms. He does enjoy lounging, however, with his foster siblings, and even made friends with the resident Chow-chow mix, after several months of tail-puffiness and hissing. Bergh will now walk up to and rub himself all over the dog, so we think Bergh would do fine in a home with a dog respectful of his space (read: no chasing!) if given enough time to adjust. From the day Bergh's been in our home, he's been a complete joy. He is a needy little boy, always wanting to know what you're doing and why you're not doing it with him. He'll get in your face when you're typing, reading, or especially eating. This is a cat who will be your constant companion and best friend; he would do best in a household with few other pets (but not as an only cat) and lots (lots, lots) of time to spend with him. He loves giving hugs (wrapping his paws around your neck) and kisses (nuzzling your face with his). He's scared at first of new cats and dogs, but there was never a doubt in his mind about people. They're great! Bergh is litter box trained and FeLV/FIV negative.
