All About Me

Jolie is one of the prettiest Maine Coon mix kittens we have ever seen. She has the coloring of a gray tabby, with tufts of fur sticking out from her ears and between her paw pads, just like a Maine Coon. Jolie was brought into an IAR foster home because we thought she and her sister Sofia might pull on your heartstrings the same way they pull on ours. Jolie was trapped in part of IAR's Trap Neuter Release program, but when her foster mom caught a glimpse of her sweet face and heard about the dangers she would face if we released her back in the spot where we trapped her, she just could not bear to let that happen. However, at 3 months old, Jolie was a bit old to be easily tamed. It is a testament to Jolie's Maine Coon genetics that we have made quite a lot of progress with this beautiful girl -- Yes, that's Jolie sitting with her friends Hugo and Sofia on their foster mom's lap. After only a week in foster care, Jolie is tame enough to romp around her kitty room with her playmates, and to come to her human for dinner. She is scared of tall standing humans, but willing to hang out nearby if they will just sit down! She would already make a lovely companion for a braver cat like Hugo, but we cannot predict how long it will take before she'll snuggle up to you in bed at night. Adopting Jolie will bring you joy every day that you have truly saved a life.

Jolie and her kitten friends Sofia and Hugo were living outside a nursing care facility across the street from NC State until Jolie was about 3 months old. Jolie will need a patient adopter that can give her a lot of time to adjust to her new home, but for the right person the rewards will be worth the wait. If you don't have the patience to adopt a kitten like Jolie, but would like to support our efforts to help them, consider making a 100% tax-deductible donation to our efforts to save the cats and kittens at this NC State location at
