Checkers is a special black and white kitten with distinctive markings and only half a tail.
Checkers is an energetic boy that loves to play! He loves to climb and his favorite spot is the hammock hanging from the cat tree. Checkers is obsessed with tails so he can often be seen playing with a friend's tail or chasing what is left of his own. He purrs constantly and likes to be with his foster parents anytime he is not playing with a friend. Checkers has been through a lot and would like to find a home with his sister, Jetta. Checkers and his sister, Jetta, were two week old orphans when they were taken to a local animal shelter. A loving IAR volunteer took them in and bottle fed them. Checkers had surgery in November to amputate part of his tail and fix a prolapsed gland in his left eye. Needless to say, Checkers has had some bad luck but I am happy to report that his loving and active personality has been completely unaffected! His prognosis is good so hopefully someone will overlook his short comings and make him a part of their family. Any donation toward Checkers' surgery would be greatly appreciated.
