Mo

IAR ID#: C-21-048

Birth Date: March 1, 2013

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Mo is a handsome silver tabby, with soft brown undertones. He has the most stunning green eyes. He's a big guy at about 13 pounds.

Personality: Mo is a loving and affectionate distinguished gentleman. At a mature age (our best guess is older than 6, younger than 10), he really just wants to lounge around within petting distance of a kind human and enjoy life as a kept kitty. His purr motor must be an 8 cylinder - his whiskers vibrate when he really gets going! Mo is an excellent companion feline. He's great company, without being too needy. He's perfectly content to hang out beside a human for hours, offering little "meep meows" occasionally to make sure you know he's there, but mostly he just enjoys being able to be a cat with a human best friend. It would seem that Mo hasn't had a lot of experience as an indoor cat, but he has taken to luxuries quite quickly. He has also adapted to the litter box very well. Some indoor things still scare him, though - printers are not to be trusted and cleaning routines that involve brooms make him very worried. He is content to retreat to a safe hiding spot while these things take place, but is quick to return to regularly scheduled cuddling when the broom is out of sight. Mo showed up at a managed feral colony and spent about a year roughing it on the streets until he was transitioned to a safe outdoor enclosure. His caretaker recognized how affectionate he was and wanted him to seek a loving indoor home so he could find his person. He's a "heart cat" ready to bond with someone trustworthy and deserving of his love. Mo hasn't quite figured out the concept of sitting *on* a human, but loves to sit as close as he can on the sofa and press himself against a leg or rest his head in the crook of an elbow. He also gives the most exuberant and loving head butts imaginable. He's looking for an experienced cat owner who can help him continue to blossom. He is still quite nervous in new situations and will require a slow and gentle introduction to his new home - starting with a very small and safe acclimation room and slowly gaining access to more space. It took him about 48 hours to trust his foster people, and then another 48 before he was a puddle of purrs by their sides. To keep up with Mo's adventures in his foster home, you can follow his foster parents on Instagram: @foxtailfosters

Personality: Coal is a sweet boy looking for a place to live out his golden years. Beloved by many volunteers, he comes complete with a little IAR fan club - we just love him! He’s a relaxed fellow with a penchant for seafood flavored snacks and treats. He comes running at the sound of a can being opened. He’ll even weave between your legs as if to say “I’m right here, ready for dinner!” A lifelong lover of the outdoors, our Coal will do best in a home with lots of windows or even a sunroom. Coal hopes to find a patient, loving owner who can brush him to help with his grooming and love on him to help with his continued adjustment to the indoors. Birth Date: October 10, 2020

Gender: Female

Physical Description: Silky, soft, black medium hair with some white/gray highlights and stunning green eyes

Personality: My name is Ophelia Owl because of my mane and my wide yellow eyes. I have a sweet little chirpy meow that is way cuter than a hoot of an owl and I like it when you talk back to me. I am a very sweet and loving kitten and I spent my early months outside but am adapting well to the ways of indoor life. I enjoy sitting near you while you pet me and cuddle gently and I also love watching TV. I LOVE food and I am very curious about everything. I'm still hesitant of quick movement and loud noises so I would do best in a calm home of a single person or a couple with no kids. I know I can be the perfect companion for someone who has the patience and time to give me while I come out of my shell. I'm still young so I would like to be adopted with Olive so we can continue our journey of life together. Grooming and playing with Olive is one of my favorite parts of my day.

Creamsicle

Personality: Creamsicle is a beautiful ginger-and-white adult cat with a kitten’s personality. In between cat naps, she plays energetically with toys and frequently watches the birds and squirrels from the windows. She adapted quickly to her foster home and immediately commandeered the blanket on the couch placed there for her, usually scampering across the room to join her foster there for a “petting-fest”. She is curious and explores new toys and spaces with little hesitation, and often follows her foster around. Creamsicle is friendly to adults but not enamored of dogs. Gender: Female

Physical Description: Sadie is a beautiful short haired gray/black tabby. Her fur is very plush. She has the funniest little raspy squawk of a meow!

Personality: Sadie is a sweet and playful girl with a loud purr. She carries toy balls and feather wands all over the house, including up the stairs and onto my bed. She loves napping in the sun or curled up against my legs, getting chin rubs and back scratches, and chasing foster siblings all over the house. She is still a little nervous at times and is gaining confidence with strangers —she loves getting loved on, sleeping on/against my leg on the sofa, and cuddling in my lap, but still startles with loud noises and does not like being picked up or held. With time, she will undoubtedly get more and more comfortable- she has already come so far and is a very very sweet girl! Arnez J

IAR ID#: C-20-440

Birth Date: February 19, 2020

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Brown Tabby

Personality: My name is Arnez J, not to be confused with the comedian. Though my foster family does think I am a bit of a character. I am a very handsome 11 month old brown tabby that was found living in a feral colony in Chapel Hill, but my amazing rescuer saw so much potential in me and took a chance, so here I am. It took a little while for me to warm up to the inside life. I was just a bit frightened by my foster sister, a 65lb Shar-Pei, but now she lets me think I intimidate her when I decide her bed is mine. I love playing with my foster brothers, one in particular because he is younger and can keep up with me. I like to spend my days bird/squirrel watching out the back window and hiding in boxes waiting for my next unsuspecting victim (my foster brother) to surprise. I am not what you would call a lap kitty, but I do visit my foster parents every morning and evening in bed and like to play more than cuddle. My mom keeps telling me to take it easy with the purring because I might wear out the loud engine I have (which runs most of the time) hehe. I definitely need to find a home that has another energetic and accepting kitty or kitties around my age (11 months). I would probably be ok with a non-aggressive doggie, but that could take me some time for me to build the trust up. I would probably not be the best around small children because my playing sometimes gets a little rambunctious. If you are interested in meeting me please don’t hesitate to reach out for a meet and greet. I haven’t left the house much because of covid, but would be super excited to have a reason to!
