All About Me

Miss Ruby has a beautiful chocolate coat.

Miss Ruby loves everyone she meets. She has a wagging tail when you walk through the door and will follow you around the house to be petted and loved on. She does very well with all the different dogs in her foster home and is especially gentle with the puppies. Ruby would do well in a home where she can be loved. In return, she will love you forever.

Health

Miss Ruby is up-to-date on her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She tested positive for heartworm, and is being treated with a slow protocol that begins with 28 days of doxcycline and Heartgard twice during the first month, followed by twice-a-month Heartgard. This method gradually clears the heartworm infection without the need for excessive confinement. Most dogs will test negative for heartworm within a year using this method.

History

Miss Ruby came to IAR from a rural shelter.
