Starsky is a mostly black pup with some white and tan accents. We think he's a shepherd-hound mix.
Starsky is a playful and sweet young boy. He loves all people he meets and is great with other dogs, although he can be a little nervous at first. He loves to play with toys, balls, sticks—you name it. In his foster home, he gets excited when he sees the resident cats and just wants to play with them. He would likely be fine in a home with kids. He has not learned to walk on a leash yet, and has not had any puppy training, so his ideal adopter will be ready to get started on those things right away. He does very well with house training and sleeping through the night.

Given his young age, he is still in the process of having his routine puppy vaccinations and will be neutered when he is old enough.
Starsky was rescued from a rural shelter with his brother, Hutch, who has found his forever home.
IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
