All About Me

Like his brother Talcott, Mickey is not the standard black kitty that the photos show. He is really a black on gray/black tabby, of the bull's eye variety. He has an unusual black tabby pattern with a dense gray undercoat, particularly around his neck, where he loves to be scratched.

Hugs (formerly Mickey D) is the largest of his kitten pack and is super outgoing. He greets family members of the person variety with loud purring and a gentle head butt for attention. Mickey and his brother were briefly adopted by a wonderful family, but they had to be returned to IAR due to allergies in the family. In the brief time Mickey lived with this family, he totally won their hearts and they named him Hugs due to extremely affectionate nature. He LOVED playing with the children and was instantly at home in his new place. He is a big, physical kitten and needs some room to play as well as a young cat friend to share adventures with. Hugs wants to be involved in any thing the people are doing, and enjoys supervising cleaning of litter boxes, sweeping, and hand washing- he sometimes takes a nap in the sink. A wonderful all around guy!

History

Hug's mom was rescued when "with kitten" (unknown to her rescuer), and she surprised him by having seven kittens in his kitchen. The kittens have grown up there with Mom watching over them until they came into rescue at about three months of age. They were briefly adopted and very well-loved, but returned with much regret to IAR because the kids developed allergies.
