Cheesesteak is a sweet, affectionate, and delightfully quirky little dude. He’s a tight little ball of muscle with the funniest little zoomies and impressive jumps on his little bitty legs. He also loves a good cuddle and burrowing deep into you. He’ll roll over for belly rubs or flip upside down with his paws over his head. He definitely has an adorably goofy side. He’d love to spend most of the day curled up in your lap or hanging close by, and he also likes to have his own little space in a crate or somewhere cozy for when he needs some downtime or wants to create a toy nest. Cheese loves to sunbathe and just hang out in the backyard. He rarely barks and does his best to be brave, even when he’s a little nervous. He’s well behaved and not demanding, though he can be a little pouty if left alone too long.

Cheese bonds very strongly to his main human and that’s who he trusts the most, but he typically greets new people very friendly, hopping right in their lap and offering kisses. Cheese came from a situation with a lot of dogs, and he’s still learning that he doesn’t have to protect “his” things. If he lives with other animals, he’ll need monitoring and continued training while he continues to learn that there’s plenty of food, toys, and love to go around. Cheese also really likes for his boundaries to be respected. So, he would fit best with someone with a good understanding of dog body language so that they can help him continue to feel safe and secure. He’s very sweet and has such a fun personality. He’s going to make an excellent sidekick.

Cheesesteak came from a local shelter. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He has allergies that were addressed with a Cytopoint injection and thus far haven’t returned.
