Because Snapple is younger than 6 months of age, it is IAR policy that he must be adopted with another kitten or into a household with a young cat (general guideline of 2 years or younger but on a case by case basis).
🧃 Meet Snapple
Snapple spent three days trapped in a storm drain before being rescued!
So when he first arrived as a foster kitten, he wasn't entirely convinced humans were trustworthy. While other kittens immediately accepted that people provide food, toys, and cuddles, Snapple decided to collect a little more data first.
And since then, he's made incredible progress! He's discovered that toys are fun. Cozy naps are excellent. Wrestling with other kittens is even better.
And Churu?
Snapple doesn't just like Churu.
Snapple LOVES Churu.
He performs quality-control inspections by biting the wrapper, and attempting to wrestle the tube directly out of your hand if snack service is moving too slowly! He's also made another important discovery: laps are actually pretty great!
He's still the kind of kitten who likes to gather a little evidence first...his internal monologue seems to go something like this:
"Hmm... that lap looks suspicious."
Sunny climbs into lap.
"Interesting."
Another kitten climbs into lap.
"...The evidence is becoming difficult to ignore."
Five minutes later...
"I have independently concluded that this lap is acceptable. This was entirely my idea."
Snapple can still be a little shy with new people, but once you've earned his trust, he'll happily climb up for cuddles. Watching him choose to be close after everything he's overcome feels like winning the lottery every single time.
All IAR cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption.
