All About Me

Turtle, is a stately, brown and white tabby male who loves attention from his people! He is an independent cat but also a very loving and playful boy who is always happy to see you. Turtle is a laid back boy who loves finding a warm, soft and comfy spot, covered in sunbeams for a nice afternoon nap. He is a great companion cat to welcome into your home, ready to give you lots of love eyes, meows and purrs every day! Just look into those soulful eyes and you are sure to fall in love with Turtle!

Turtle intermittently appears to have tremors or twitching, and as a result, he does not like being picked up but loves being close to you and often flopps on his side for attention and belly rubs. He has a neurological balance disorder called intermittent vestibular ataxia and hyperpathia syndrome, characterized by increased reaction to a stimulus. Ataxia is a term for a group of disorders that affect co-ordination & balance.

It is unknown if Turtle's condition is congenital or resulted from a trauma before coming to IAR. Most of the time his condition is barely noticeable unless he gets extremely stressed or anxious. Turtle does not need any medication or treatments for his condition and will do best in a calm and quiet household as an only cat or with another easy going cat companion.

All IAR cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption.
