Hershel is an intelligent, highly trainable boy who thrives on mental engagement and human companionship. For "his human" he is a wonderful, quirky, happy and energetic young pup, with a cute two-front-feet prance. Quick to learn and eager to please, Hershel excels with puzzle feeders, interactive toys, and structured training sessions. Hershel is at his best when he can stay involved in the daily household routine, making him a good fit for a home where someone is around for most of the day. House-trained and crate-trained, Hershel is also a good walker, a good car rider, and a good sleeper, happy to live the “early to bed, early to rise” life.

Hershel will thrive in a home with a doggie companion, as he plays well with other dogs and will take cues from them. He will also do best in a home that can provide him with plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep his mind and body active. A fenced yard would be terrific for romping and playing. He is cautious around new people and is worried by quick or unexpected movements, but is learning how to be more confident around new experiences and people. A patient home with predictable routines that will provide him time to build his confidence would be a wonderful fit, and he will reward his new forever home with love and entertainment.
