All About Me

Meet Buddie, an intelligent, gentle, sweet, and sensitive fellow with a medium energy level, looking for his forever home. Buddie is deeply affectionate with his trusted people but can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments. He needs a quiet, low-stress environment and a patient adopter who will let him decompress at his own pace. Once he feels comfortable, he will show you his snuggly side, and he loves nuzzling, belly rubs, head and muzzle scritches, and snoozing on soft, elevated surfaces (he has a very cute snore!).

His endearing habits include collecting all his stuffed toys into one place (he’s not destructive with them), chasing squirrels, playing fetch, and enjoying all manner of brain games, especially when a tasty treat is involved! See Buddie’s cute video of him with an enrichment game.

Because of his sensitivity to noise and strangers, Buddie would do best in a detached home with a fenced yard and could benefit from a confident, similarly sized older dog as a doggie pal. Buddie is currently living successfully with a cat in his foster home. He is house-trained and prefers napping on sofas or beds, but he also sleeps on the floor in his doggy beds and at night.

Physical
Buddie is a nice medium-sized dog with a compact body and an attractive black-and-white short coat and a white-tipped tail. He has shiny brown eyes and bright white teeth.

Health
Buddie is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on shots.

History
Buddie came into IAR from a neighboring county when his owner could no longer care for him.
