IAR’s Painted Chair Auction for the Animals (PCA) has been an event for 20 years where volunteers, friends, supporters, and donors gather to eat, drink, listen to live music, and bid on items donated by hundreds of local businesses, artists, and craftspeople.
Since the onset of the pandemic, we have held this event virtually with an online silent auction and live-streamed live auction event. Last year, we raised over $40,000 to benefit animals in need!
The PCA is our largest annual fundraiser with all proceeds directly allocated to providing safe and responsible care for animals in need. Preparation is everything, and it’s not all hard work if we have a good team. We already have some offers of help and some offers of items to auction. A Paint-A-Thon is lined up where volunteers can transform interesting pieces of furniture and smaller items into works of art!
Please consider joining this effort to organize the event. There are numerous ways to get involved, ranging from photographing and posting items on the PCA website to staffing the Guess Road office on sale preview days. It takes a village! We are aiming to have the event in September.
