Awesome Arlo is a beautiful brown boxer mix with dark brown ears and tail tip, a black and white muzzle, and brown eyes.
Awesome Arlo lives up to his name! He is so gentle and sweet and calm, and loves to lie right next to people. A bit shy to start with, he warms up pretty quickly, especially to women, and just needs a bit more time with men. He walks well on a leash and is house- and crate-trained. Awesome enjoys exploring our fenced backyard and seems to have no interest in trying to venture beyond! He gets along very well with my two dogs and is happy to play with them, and he can also entertain himself. He and my 20-year-old daughter like to play hide and seek.
Awesome is a lovely housemate who likes his chew bone and knows not to touch anything that isn’t his. He likes to sleep under my desk while I am working, laying his big head on my feet. His beautiful, expressive eyes closely watch his humans. When his favorite people aren't around, he gets a bit nervous, which we are working on. So, he will need a patient, loving adopter to continue to help him through that and who are home more often than not.

Awesome Arlo is in good health, is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative.
Awesome Arlo had lived in one home all his life until they had a death in the family and had to give him up as well as his companion, Pickles, who has already been adopted through IAR.
IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
