Fontina is a perfectly sized tricolor beagle with super-soft fur and those signature big ears. She has a very sweet face and cute little brown speckles throughout her body.
Fontina (Tina for short) is curious, playful, and sweet. She is happiest when snuggled up next to you or on the trail of a good sniff. She loves being outdoors and exploring, is a great leash-walker, and responds to commands best when offered delicious treats. Tina is incredibly trusting and welcoming of new people (including kids of any age) and dogs. She loves to play with other dogs of all sizes and would love a fur brother or sister. She is crate-trained and is coming along well with house-training.
Fontina is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is currently in need of diagnostic tests for ongoing reflux issues. Her reflux is managed with medication right now, but we would like to have further testing done to understand the cause. The current Covid19 restrictions are preventing us from completing these tests until the vet accepts nonemergency visits. IAR is committed to continuing to fund and assist with Tina's medical needs even if she is adopted before the tests can be completed.
Fontina was living with an owner whose landlord did not want dogs, and she was surrendered to a local shelter.
IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
