All About Me

Jewel has a gorgeous dark brown coat with a beautiful white chest and white toes.

Jewel is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to cuddle! She also loves being outside, but she’s happy anywhere as long as she's getting plenty of attention! She was previously living with a family as an indoor/outdoor dog, but has been living quite comfortably in a quiet apartment with her foster dad. When she’s not on the couch napping or cuddling, she loves playing with her bone and snuggling with soft plush toys. Jewel also enjoys playing with her doggie friends, and definitely prefers the company of calm and quiet dogs. She is crate- and house-trained, and is looking for a loving family and a stable place to call home.

Health

Jewel is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. She is heartworm positive and is receiving a gentle protocol: for the first month--28 days of doxycyline and twice per month Heartgard, continuing with the twice per month Heartgard. This method gradually clears the heartworm infection without the need for excessive confinement, and most dogs will test negative for heartworms within a year. While she’s heartworm positive it’s recommended that she not engage in strenuous activity—so no marathon training for her until next year!

History

Jewel came from a local shelter.
