All About Me

Nelly is all black with a pug nose and floppy ears.

This little peanut will steal your heart! Nelly may a pug mix. She is very affectionate and loves attention, so we're looking for a home with active people, and where someone is around a good part of the day. Nelly is living in her foster home with her buddy, Tess. And, although Tess is more than twice her size, Nelly is the boss and always wants to be first! House- and crate-trained, she is also very smart: In just a few minutes she learned to come and sit on command. She is very active and needs a VERY SECURE fenced yard at her disposal (shared apartment complex dog parks will not be considered such). Nelly would do best with another small dog.

Nelly’s mischievous antics and sweet nature will give her person so much joy! Three weeks ago, when she was only 5 pounds, she climbed up her foster mom’s dining room chair onto the table! A few days later, she decided to hide the toys from Tess (hmm, not a perfect plan).

Nelly is great with kids. And she is warming up to other dogs and people. At first, out of fear, she may bark at them, but she quickly stops.

Nelly is a headstrong little thing. She is an explorer and very curious, and she will try to escape the smallest openings and will climb over gates if she wants to get something or to get out.

If adopted alone, her people will likely need to be patient until Nelly can overcome the separation. Meanwhile, she will want a lot of attention.
