All About Me

Sienna has a beautiful black and brown brindle coat with white accents.

Sienna is a very sweet girl. In a short time she has already mastered some basic commands and is learning others. She likes to play with plush toys, tennis balls, and frisbees, and she really enjoys car rides. Sienna is very interested in squirrels and can pull a little, but is very responsive to correction and is otherwise very good at leash walking. When Sienna isn't napping in the sun, she likes to snuggle next to her foster mom. Sienna is a people-person dog, following her foster mom wherever she goes. She is doing well with both crate- and house training.

Health

Sienna is up-to-date on her vaccinations. She tested positive for heartworms and is receiving the gentle protocol , starting with 28 days of doxycyline along with a Heartgard every 15 days during that first month, followed by Heartgard twice a month. This method gradually clears the heartworm infection without the need for excessive confinement. Most dogs will test negative for heartworms within a year using this method.

History

Sienna was found with her four babies (now named P-Nut, Peppermint Patty, Jinger, and McNuggets), and brought to a local shelter by a Good Samaritan.
