All About Me

Roxanna has a beautiful white curly coat with café au lait spots. She may be a mix of Bichon Frise and poodle—thus a “poochon” or “bichpoo” . . . or some such thing!

Roxanna is adorable and also very affectionate, once she understands that you are loving and trustworthy. Although she is coming out of her shell, she is certainly still shy and reserved. But Roxanna has made great strides; and now that we have worked with her for some time, I’m thrilled to say that she accepts a pat on the head from pretty much everyone she meets! She allows us access to a bit of her belly by slightly lifting up one leg. And someday, I know she will turn completely on her back and let you scratch her whole belly!
Roxanna would do best in a fairly quiet home with someone who is home most of the day. She does love hanging out with my rambunctious pups (a Jack Russell mix and a dachshund mix); but that is about as wild as our household gets! We have chickens as well, and when we go out in the fenced yard Roxanna doesn’t pay them any mind; so she might be fine with cats (although she hasn’t been tested). She would love having a fenced yard to run in; but I think she would also be happy with walks (at her pace).
Roxanna needs a person willing to give her the time and tenderness she needs to continue her journey toward happiness and security, someone who can move slowly and with care. I would love to have you visit her and see if you are the one she needs—the one from whom she will learn to expect only human kindness and decency.
