All About Me

Gary Wilson Jr is a big boy with beautiful soft gray fur, white on his feet, and a smattering of white on his face and chest.

If you’ve ever wanted a lovable velveteen hippo, Gary Wilson Jr is your man! Gary is named for SpongeBob SquarePants’ snail, Gary Wilson Jr. Why, you might ask? Because Gary loves the simple things in life. All it takes for Gary to show you his endearing big smile and give you a big kiss is a little bit of love.
Gary is an easy-going fella! He loves to go outside on leisurely walks, during which he is happy to sniff around and see what's going on in the neighborhood. He walks beautifully on a harness (it is easier on him to use one because of his big-boy size). Whenever he hears a potential critter in the bushes, he freezes and tilts his head as if he is pondering what it could be.
He also loves to be inside, just keeping you company and entertaining himself with tennis balls and toys. He would love a window to look outside of because he finds almost everything intriguing and thought-provoking.
Gary knows how to sit and is working on other basic commands. He is potty trained and goes #1 and #2 very promptly on walks. When he sees other dogs, he whines because he wants to say hello so badly! He is easily redirected and goes on his merry way with you if the dog is not too close. When he sees dogs that are closer to him, he pulls towards them and barks. He is working on staying calm during greetings! When his foster mom leaves the house, Gary has free reign of the house and is not destructive at all!
When it comes time to settle down for the night, he is very happy to sleep on a dog bed or on your bed if there is room for him! He is a most excellent source of warmth and snuggles for those colder, lonelier nights.
