All About Me

PROFILE
Maizy is a goofy, sweet-as-pie charmer. She is shy with new people at first and requires a calm household, where new introductions and activities can be introduced gently. Maizy LOVES long walks and is looking for a forever home where she'll get plenty of exercise. She is accustomed to going outside about every 5 hours during the day and sleeps through the night without incident.

Maizy loves to snuggle. She will roll over for belly rubs and redirect your hands with paws and head bumps to where she wants attention. She is still mastering the art of balancing on a lap, but would like you to know that she looks forward to that lap dog lifestyle. Maizy would love sharing your bed if you'll let her, but she is also happy with a nice dog bed (only the finest for this gal!) or couch. She is also crate-trained and appreciates having a safe spot to retreat to when vacuuming and other such scary-to-her events occur.

Maizy walks at a fast clip and although she enjoys stopping to sniff, she is easily redirected with vocal cues. She often gets overexcited when she sees another dog approach--but with the right treats (she's treat selective!) she can be trained to have better manners over time. We think this behavior is leash specific and that she may behave better in a play date situation or with a resident dog companion.

PHYSICAL
Maizy has a white wiry coat with light brown markings. Her ears often reveal her expressions when one is upright and the other floppy.

HEALTH
Maizy is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

HISTORY
Maizy was rescued by some Good Samaritans who found her outside a convenience store, where the store owner said she had been for a week.
