All About Me

Turtle is bonded to another cat and would like to be adopted together. Please check his Best Friends section.

My name is Turtle! My rescue was a community effort, and I am glad I am here! I got stuck deep in a sewer, and local residents heard me crying beneath the grates. They started air dropping me food and water while they looked for help, and a full week later, a nice lady from IAR was able to catch me with a squirrel trap and rescue me from the sewer!

I was a little apprehensive at first about all of the new sights and sounds, especially after being trapped in the dark for so long, but now you could never tell I was the same scared kitty that came out of the sewer!

My foster mom says I'm the smartest cat she has ever met! When I see a new toy for the first time, I let my adopted brother experiment with it first, and then I copy what looks the most fun! I like to try climbing new things, but I am always careful to consider my next step to make sure I don't fall. I am always thinking and processing my surroundings, and because of this I might seem a little slow to the jump, but really I am just learning at my own pace so that I can feel comfortable and confident. My adopted brother has helped me a lot with my confidence, as well!

I love my foster mom's older cat, and I don't mind the dog too much, either. I've never met little humans, but with time I could probably learn to love them. I like to make the first move, and build trust quickest when others let me approach them first. My foster mom has introduced me to strangers, and I warm up to them pretty quickly when I am comfortable, and she thinks I can warm up to you, too!

When I got rescued, I was all alone. Luckily, another little kitty around my age got rescued the same week, and we were destined from that point on to become best friends! I was a little apprehensive at first, but it only took a few days for me to be cuddling up with my adopted brother Turner, and now we spend all day playing and cuddling while our foster mom is working. Having my new brother has helped me build my confidence and sense of security, and that is why I need to be adopted with Turner!

I am looking for the purrfect home, and you might be it! Fill out an application today!

All IAR cats will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines at the time of adoption.
