All About Me
Some cats hide when first introduced to their new home, but not Hazel. She immediately inspected every nook and cranny she could find in her new space. She even tested out the cat door between the screen porch and the living room, independently mastering the route from the porch into the house. With a little help from a willing granddaughter and a few cat treats she was enticed to exit the living room into the porch as well. She has a healthy appetite, grazing dry food throughout the day. Her water bowl gets regular visits, too.
Hazel sometimes perches atop the kitchen cabinets, surveying the room below before cat-napping. However, she's much less likely to be found up there now that she's discovered how entertaining it is to watch the birds and squirrels from the windows or the screen porch.
Hazel is calm, inquisitive, and a great companion. She has been curious about and comfortable with people who've visited me, including my two granddaughters. She discretely monitors my presence and I often find her sprawling on the floor or dozing on a bed in the room where I am. The most meowing I've heard from her is when I'm in the shower, when she can hardly wait to investigate the shower stall and lick the floor. She will make a great addition to almost any household.
