All About Me

Chirpy is a snowshoe Siamese with a short-haired coat that is a mix of various creams, browns, and black. She has lovely blue eyes and a chocolate brown-colored tail with a unique a ring of cream-colored fur near the tip. She is a very pretty, petite lady.

Chirpy gets her name from the cute little chirping sounds she makes to say hello (or feed me please). She always makes you feel like she's happy to see you when you enter the room. Since joining her foster home (end of Feb 2016), her personality has emerged more each day. She has been quiet, calm, and sweet from the beginning, and as she has gotten comfortable, she has begun showing her playful side. She loves getting petted and will do some biscuit making if you give her a fuzzy blanket. She doesn't climb onto her foster parents' laps of her own accord, but she'll stay and luxuriate in your affection if you put her on your lap yourself. Cricket is equally content to be off on her own or to take a nap next to her foster folks. She would do quite well as the single cat in a house, but would also likely get along with another cat (or cats) as long as there was not any pushiness in the beginning about trying to interact with her. Adopting her with the intention that she immediately becomes a playmate for another cat would not be a good fit. There are two other cats in her current foster home, and after a period of either ignoring them or giving them a hiss/growl if they got too close, she's moved on to the occasional nose sniffing with them and even an occasional frolic with one of the two other cats. Cricket uses her litter box and scratching pads faithfully. She is spayed and current on her vaccinations.

History

Chirpy was a stray in the community that approached her rescuer for help. She was turned over to IAR after a search of the neighborhood didn't result in finding her owner.
