Siamese mix with tortie points that are light grey and tan, except for her tail which is a beautiful blend of grey and brown. Phoebe has the softest fur ever, and light blue eyes.

Phoebe is a gentle but very shy cat who lived outdoors for about nine years without being handled by people, just using a shelter and food provided by a kind person. She continues to make gradual progress indoors, slowly becoming less fearful. She regularly licks her foster mom. She also has begun to purr, and enjoys gentle rubbing on her throat, the top of her head, and the sides of her nose, as well as gentle stroking of her body. She occasionally rolls on her side for chest and tummy strokes, but she is not quite ready to be picked up, and is happiest in a partially enclosed spot on a cat tree.

Phoebe enjoys birdwatching and listening to music, especially birdsong CDs. She is more active in the evening, when she tackles her cardboard scratching pad enthusiastically. Phoebe holds her own with other cats, sometimes sniffing noses and licking ears and heads of other cats in her foster home.

In spite of her fear, she has never bitten or scratched either people or cats.

Phoebe needs a dedicated, patient, and sensitive human to work with her very gradually to help her feel safe in an indoor home.
