All About Me

Smudge is a beautiful black and white tuxedo cat with a black smudge on his nose. His eyes are green.

Smudge loves to be held, petted, and snuggled with when he is not busy playing. He will often meow to be picked up and follows people around hoping they will pick him up and pet him. At night he sleeps with his foster mom and also likes to sleep on soft blankets. Sometimes he will suckle when he is happy. Smudge is very silly and often does yoga while napping. The ways this kitten sleeps are bizarre.

His favorite toys are hair ties. He carries them around in his mouth and loves to put them down in the middle of the floor, hide, and then pounce on them. He also loves to chase paper balls.

Smudge gets along well with other cats and dogs. He can be a little protective of his food (probably from being outside when he was younger and having to compete with siblings for food). However, he loves dogs and loves to rub against our shy hound dog, even though our dog is not too sure about him! Overly active dogs may frighten him.

He also naps with our adult cats and grooms them. He really loves his brother, Champ, and looks up to him. It would be great if Smudge and Champ were adopted together, but Smudge gets along with other cats and would do fine as an addition to a home with a young cat.

Smudge is shy around new people or new animals. Adoption events are scary for him and he hides. He is most comfortable at home with people he trusts. He will need someone special who understands that he needs time to adjust. He is a wonderful kitten and is very loving once he has adjusted. We are not sure how he is around kids, but he seems fine with any situation with patience.

He is FIV/FeLV negative, neutered, and up to date on all shots. He would love to have a forever home where he can be himself and is waiting for someone to give him a chance.
