All About Me

Baby Mallard! His name says it all. When I first saw this kitten hiding in the bushes, I thought he was a stray duckling. The vet and others have thought he must be a Bengal cat, but we know that he probably isn't. He IS a most unusual marble tabby, with circles and rosettes of buff on a brown background. As he is getting older, his markings are taking on reddish gold overtones. His chest and belly fur is a rich caramel/ butterscotch color with distinct tiger stripes. And his face is almost too pretty to be a boy. This stunning kitten is going to be big too- he has a wide chest and large paws, and at 10 weeks old, he was already twice the weight of his sister.

Baby Mallard is a very dear kitten who is sure to be a wonderul cat companion. As soon as you start to sweet talk him, he begins purring, making biscuits and gazing at you. Although he is might be a bit reticent with new people initially, it does not take long before he is in your lap and purring. He is very bonded to his littermates, and is wise enough to hang back to let his bolder sister Swann make sure all is well before joining in the action. But when he gets going, he is very athletic and playful with his kitten sibs and definitely needs a playmate who will be interactive with him. Mallard is litter trained, FIV/ FELV negative, microchipped, and neutered.

History

Baby Mallard and his siblings, Swann and Robin were rescued from a dangerous outdoor situation when they were young kittens. They were being fed on someone's porch on a busy street, and had to hide in the woods until nightfall when it was safe enough to come and eat. They are very appreciative of having a safe indoor home and plenty of food and love!

I’m at the pet store!

Baby Mallard is staying at right now. You can visit him any time the store is open.
