Island is a handsome tuxedo. His extra-long, white whiskers and the mustache shaped markings on his lips make him look like a Civil War general, which has earned him the nickname "the General."

Island loves to wrestle and snuggle with his foster sister, Annie (also available for adoption through IAR), and when she's not available, he wrestles with his stuffed bear. When he's feeling less active, Island enjoys sitting in open windows, to oversee neighborhood activity, and also enjoys sitting on the sofa, to oversee household activity. He loves to be scratched and pet, but is a little cagey about being picked up. Subsequently, he might not be a good fit for a family with small children.

Island loves to snuggle and to build nests from blankets and shoes left out on the floor. He does well with new people and gives Eskimo kisses once he gets to know you.
