Jacques (Jack) is the perfect companion cat. He is very affectionate, loves to be petted and purrs readily. He is trainable and responds to an encouraging or admonishing tone of voice. He is quite amenable to being brushed and having his front claws clipped. He would rather not be picked up, but will follow you around and will sit next to you with his head near your hand to facilitate being petted. He will reach out with both paws and encircle your arm to draw your hand to his head for petting. He loves to play, and has a particular fondness for catnip toys and laser pointer 'chase' games. He occasionally gives ‘love bites’ but they are so sweet and gentle. He loves nothing more than to be near you when you are sitting quietly or be near you when you sleep.
