Athena and her brother Nico are best pals. They explore new places together, they delight in discovering a new toy, and they LOVE to wrestle. Athena is more svelte than her chunky brother and, as a result, she's more agile. She's the first to discover how to get over, under, or around the barriers her foster mom puts up to keep her out of trouble. Although Athena mostly loves to have a good time (she's a kitten after all), she also loves to climb into her foster mom's lap for a cuddle and a snooze. Her foster mom thinks there's nothing cuter than Athena's wide eyes with their white eyelashes taking longer and longer blinks as Athena tries her best to fight off sleep.

Athena and Nico were born in a rural North Carolina shelter. We brought them into foster care with their mother, Mamma Mia, when they were just one week old. They've grown up from sweet babies to strapping toddlers, and they are more and more fun every day. They will be ready for adoption in early June.
