Physical Description: Rafa has amber eyes, with short fur that is a beautiful chestnut brown; and a white on his face, his chest, and toes.
Personality: Rafa loves people including pet sitters, neighbors, and visitors. He adores playing fetch and always brings the toy back and drops it! He is house-trained and lets you know when he needs to go outside. Rafa is a wonderful and snugly indoor companion, and he would love to have permission to be on the couch with his adoptive family. He is able to spend some time in a crate, but would do best in a home where he is not left home alone for long periods of time. His ideal home would have a tall and secure fenced yard where he can play. Rafa can jump a low fence, so a fence will need to be sturdy and at least 6 feet high. Although Rafa loves other dogs, he often comes on too strong, which other dogs may not appreciate. He is anxious when meeting new dogs on the leash. Rafa is working with a trainer to be more settled on the leash when there are external stimuli such as other dogs passing by, but he may always have a degree of leash reactivity. For that reason, a home in a quiet setting where he is not constantly having to navigate around other dogs while on the leash would be recommended.
History: Rafa is from a rural shelter.
