Physical Description: Hooper is a coonhound mix with short hair brown and black fur, white markings, floppy ears, brown eyeliner, and beautiful accentuating eyelashes.
Personality: Hooper is a happy-go-lucky, very sweet, gentle dog who is eager to please and likes being around people. Great with other dogs and cats, he is living with a cat and foster brother dog, and he plays well and is patient with our pup. He is nonreactive when meeting new friends inside and outdoors. Hooper loves to go on walks and gets excited when we pick up his leash. He is not protective of food or toys, and sits patiently while waiting for treats. Hooper enjoys riding in a car. He is completely housetrained; and we are working on crate training, although he can be left alone in the house and is not destructive at all, and does not appear to get anxious.
History: Hooper was found at a rest stop, where, we were told, he had been for several weeks.

Health Information: Hooper is healthy, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and neutered. His front right leg is a little bent from an old accident, but this doesn’t appear to bother him and doesn’t slow him down.
IAR Sponsored Training: IAR subsidizes post-adoption professional training with Jane Marshall (www.cheerydogs.com) to encourage a life-long and successful bond between the dog and the adopter. Group classes for puppies and adult dogs are provided at a substantial discount to IAR adopters.
