Physical Description: Basil is a lovely tan/fawn color with little bits of white on her chest, toes, nose, and the tip of her tail. She has the typical graceful, lean, and athletic pointer/hound build.

Personality: Basil is a very happy-go-lucky girl. There is rarely a time when her tail isn't wagging! She is quickly getting used to all of the different household and outside sounds that are new to her! She loves meeting new people, and will make a wonderful dog for a family, couple, or individual. When things are calmer around the house, like when her foster mom settles down to do some work, she likes to look out the window or quietly sit down nearby. Her favorite thing to do is to sit on her foster mom's porch and just look around!

Basil would do wonderfully in a calm home or one with some activity--whether hanging out with kids, going outside for hiking, running, or walking, or just exploring the neighborhood. She is a curious gal who loves playing with her fuzzy toys and sniffing around (it must be the hound in her!). Because of her curious nature, she should not be left unattended in a fenced in yard, but instead would do best in a home that has time to provide her with lots of exercise (walk, run, hike, dog park) and love. She gets along very well with both dogs and cats--respecting dogs who do not want to play with her and leaving cats alone when they do not like her back.

History: Basil came to us from a local shelter.
