Physical Description: Dotty is mostly white with some dots (hence her name) on her snout and ears. She has a shiny, short coat and sheds very little. She is really easy to bathe because she has little undercoat.
Personality: Dotty is a great combination of silly playmate and total snuggle bug. She loves being around people, is incredibly sweet and gentle, and inside the house is playful and relaxes easily (a great combo). Dotty gives soft kisses and is eager to please in exchange for a tasty treat. She’s learns quickly and is responsive to training. She is also an athlete who needs a high level of periodic daily activity: running, hiking, romping with another dog . . . and would likely love agility training as she is graceful and jumps high with ease. Ideally, she would live with an active family with a fenced-in yard to play games like fetch with her humans, or to play chase and tug with a doggie sibling or friend.
Dotty is housebroken and crate-trained; and she happily entertains herself with her favorite toys: tennis balls, Kong Wubbas, and various plush toys. She is working on leash manners and knows basic commands. And if you allow dogs on your couch and bed, she’d love to be right there with you to hang out and cuddle. Dotty also enjoys a cozy blanket on her dog bed. Unfazed by rambunctious little ones, she is great with children of all ages, and absolutely loves sleeping with children in their bed. Plus . . . she is good with cats!
History: Dotty was rescued from a rural shelter by an IAR foster, who discovered a few weeks later that she was pregnant! Dotty gave birth in July 2016 in that foster's home.
